The moodboard that we have created, represents typical conventions of romance film, This would be what the target audience would expect. The target audience typically for romance film would be for women aged 15-45. This is because some of the familiar location in which they know about. In the mood board we have include pictures which include of an attractive male, we have represented this by having an image Jeremy Irvine, We decide to use him, because he has been well-represented and smart, also from a perspective he looks younger, which would then appeal to a younger audience. This would appeal to our film because our setting and story line, would appeal to a youth audience, because some of the cast are young and the story line would appeal as it about a student's first day at school, and will show her journey to school. We also included an attractive female (Nina Dobrev), as typical in romance films there would be an attractive female protagonist, who the target audience would focus on as the they would either start the film with and brief outline of their life and gives the audience an idea of the protagonist personality. The we have a jealous female antagonist, who would usually cause problems within the two protagonists' relationship. We have shown this by having a women looking at two people having a drink. This has been represented through facial expression, Its important for the antagonist to have distinct personality, from the female protagonist, as this will create a separation, and it will be easier for the target audience to identify who the antagonist is, this could done usually through dramatic irony, as the audience could find out before the cast. In our moodboard we have include a few possible setting which romance films take place, for example school(common room), park, and in modern cities i.e London. The setting is important within a romance film because it will show the protagonists intimate moments, which will help create an atmosphere for the audience to feel a part of, and be engaged in the film. Lastly we have put typical props which could be seen in a romance film, for example roses, holding hands. These all connotes love and passion, and the connection between a couple. This is a cliche as these are what audience would expect from.
