PROCESSES OF MAKING A FILM

Pre-production- Process of preparing all the elements involved in a film. Pre-production ends when the planning ends and the content starts being produced.

Production- Making of the film

Post-production- It is a word for all stages of production that has happened, after the actual end of shooting and/or recording the completed work. This includes making of motion pictures, video production, photography, TV programs, radio adverts, making the audio and digital art.

Distribution- The business of getting films to their audiences, by putting them into the cinema. They also create marketing campaign, producing poster, trailers,websites, create free previews e.t.c. They also make the films into DVDs for supermarkets, and create the BBFC certificate for the film.

DISTRIBUTION


Lionsgate   

Lionsgate is one of the leading global distribution company, with diverse shown of motion picture, motion picture, television, home entertainment, family entertainment, digital distribution and new channel platforms. Films which have been distributed from this company are, the hunger games, the expendables, and divergent series.

Warner brothers

Warner brothers was founded in 1923. its also television, and music entertainment.Produced a wide range of different genres of films each year. Responsible for releasing films to more than 39,000 screens in North America alone. It also distributes to non-theatrical markets including airlines, cruise ships, colleges, hospitals and other smaller markets. Films include The dark knight, the hangover, gravity.

Researching into different distributions, we have thought that Universal and Paramount would suit the best for our own film. From research we have found out that  these distributors usually promote romance films, some include mean girls, the love guru, love actually, bridge jones.

Universal

American film studio owned by comcast (media company) and is Hollywood 'big six' film studios. Universal would be a good distributor for our own  film, as they have promoted many popular romance films such as mean girls, clueless and endless love.

Paramount

Paramount is a film studio, TV production company, and motion picture company, ranked as one of the big six Hollywood studio. I think this would be best suited for our film, because they have distributed many romance films, which are very well known to everyone, including our target audience. These include of Love, Rosie (2014), she is out of my league (2010), no strings attached (2013), these are some for the past film which have been popular during the stated current years.
