The fault in our stars 

The voice over shown in the fault in our stars, has been spoken by the female protagonist, she talks about her family, as her mum forces her to join the cancer support group , and talks about her illness of having cancer, and her struggles though it as well. Her voice sound very sarcastic, because she seems as if she has lost hope for what her future holds for her, and always refers to talking about death. The voice over for this film, allows the audience to find out a bit more about the protagonist and her personality, and also gives the audience an insight of what her life is like and what she focuses on and shows some of her likes and dislikes. The tone on her voice sound shows a lot of sarcasm and shows that she isn't showing any excitement. She also tries to get the audience involved, so making them seem involved with whats going around her life, so trying to have a normal conversation
with them.  

The holiday

The opening 2 minutes of the film the holiday, it immediately starts off with the female protagonist, talking about her love life, and it seem as if she is talking directly to the audience. The tone of voice when she is talking sound as if she is desperate for love and talks about what could be the male protagonist. Also the desperation of her tone of voice increase through the opening as the events show that they are both present at the same party. The female protagonist covers different types of love, this effective because it allows the audience to relate to the types of love shown through the scenes. We then hear her talking about the types of love she is in, which she has been in for a long time.

For our opening 2 minute, we will include a female protagonist as the voice over, talking about her past story, and what she does on an everyday life, and have a mellow tone, so she will be talking directly toward the audience, as this is really common in most romance film, as they get them involved in the film and into there lives. The voice over will also introduce who the female protagonist is, so giving the audience an idea of who the protagonist is on a more personal level.
